Slow Everything Down

A lesson we learned from my baby granddaughter: when you are scared, uncomfortable and/or traumatized, slow everything down. Close your eyes. Slow down your breathing and heart rate. Stop moving.

Don’t let what’s happening to and around you take you off course. Keep your breath shallow long enough to notice that all eyes are probably upon you.

Open your eyes. Has everyone slowed down with you? If so, get back on course with your breathing and heart rate. Receive nourishment and resume living, business as usual. Others will follow.
